Stop Animation Practical – The Results

The Results

It was a great night and well attended. We split into 4 different groups of 3. Here are the results of the teams.

8th January 2020 @ 7:45 pm

To start the new year off to a good start we are doing a stop animation practical evening.

Sean Phelan will be hosting the evening. He’ll be giving a quick briefing about how to do stop animation. Then we will split into a few teams and create an animation using a tripod and a smartphone.
Here are a couple of examples of the sort of thing you can produce. These were both created in an hour by a complete beginner (namely my 9-year-old and me).

The app I used was, stop animation studio, the free app works perfectly well. So we’d like you to think about what you could create. Perhaps you could bring along a story idea and some props and pitch it to your team. You can light and shoot the film. You will have about 90 mins to stage, light, shoot and add dialogue and sound to your film.

Top tip bring something that lets you take photos without touching the phone. On an iPhone, you can use the Apple headphones.
The evening is open to members and non-members. We’d love to see you for what should be a fun night.

Doors open at 7:30 for a 7:45 start.
