Celebrating Women In Film 

As part of the Arts Network Sutton’s grant programme, Sutton Film makers were asked to complete a production with a positive message that supports and promotes creativity in the community.  

Our club members got their heads together and decided to work on an exciting project, incorporating a short comedy film called ‘Best Day Worst Day’, and an immersive documentary on Women in Film. This fun production Directed by Julie Childs, had a predominantly female crew and was written by the films lead actress Rachel Wright.

Getting It Right in Camera

At a recent Sutton Filmmakers club night on Tuesday 3 May 2025, club chairman Peter Leverick delivered a thoughtful and technically rich session on two crucial aspects of cinematography: Getting exposure and colour right in camera. Drawing on his decades of experience, including credits as a senior camera operator on Only Fools and Horses and Grange Hill, Peter guided members through the principles and practicalities of getting footage right in camera.
