Threadbare – Production Update
We’re excited to share that one of the anthology projects, Threadbare, is moving into casting. Written and produced by Paul Howard, with script development and direction from Sara Jordan, the film will be shot over two days this November/December 2025 at The Surrey Institute of Clinical Hypnotherapy in Wallington.
Threadbare is a dark comedy with heart, set in a community sewing room where friendships, humour and a little mischief carry the story forward when the internet unexpectedly goes down.
The production team has now been confirmed:
- Director – Sara Jordan
- Director of Photography – Peter Leverick
- 1st AD/Camera – Sean Phelan
- Sound – Matthew Wright
- Dogsbody/Producer – Paul Howard
Working together as Old Git Film Productions, we are committed to combining classic cinematography with a fun, creative atmosphere on set. The quality of the acting will be paramount to ensure Threadbare becomes a truly outstanding short film.
We are now actively casting for the following roles:
- Lucy (28) – Bride-to-be, warm-hearted yet anxious, working on her wedding dress.
- Pam (58) – Bold, quick-witted, colourful vintage fan with a mischievous streak.
- Margaret (40s) – Prim, proper, composed NHS manager, new to the sewing group.
- Derek (63) – Tech-loving hypnotherapist, cheerful and calm, founding group member.
- Cleaner (40s–60s) – Small but memorable role, adds comic relief.
Casting is underway and we’ll share further updates as we move towards filming.
