In-camera Colour Matching Workshop part II

July 1 @ 7:45 pm 10:00 pm

Session led by Peter Leverit

Following on from our popular “Getting Exposure and Colour Right” masterclass, this session takes things a step further with a practical evening of multi-camera In-camera Colour Matching.

Using both club cameras and any equipment members bring along, we’ll aim to set up a short scene with multiple angles — and then work together to ensure the footage matches across all sources. This session is perfect for those looking to build skills in multi-camera continuity, lighting consistency, and matching colour profiles from different makes and models.

In-camera Colour Matching

What we’ll cover on the In-camera Colour Matching night

  • Balancing cameras: Exposure, white balance, and picture profiles
  • Lighting consistency: Working with one lighting setup to serve multiple angles
  • Practical camera setup: Framing, placement, and coordination of shots
  • Using tools: Waveforms, vectorscopes, and lookup tables (LUTs) where available
  • Matching footage in post: A quick look at what you can fix after the shoot

We’ll be feeding all compatible cameras into our video switchers, allowing us to monitor all live angles at once and compare the In-camera Colour Matching Workshop part II with regards to image consistency in real time. This gives us a fantastic opportunity to see how exposure, colour, and lighting decisions hold up across multiple cameras simultaneously.

Please note: not all cameras may be capable of live output, but we’ll work with what we have and adapt accordingly.

We will have the club cameras and a grey scale card.

What to bring:

  • Your camera, if you have one (any brand or level welcome)
  • Tripod or rig if available
  • Any tools you use for exposure or colour balancing

This session is about collaboration, experimentation, and shared learning. Come along and see how small changes can make a huge difference to the final result.

Come ready to learn, ask questions and see the difference that proper exposure and colour handling can make.
