What Happens If…
The Internet Goes Down!!!
Contents
Welcome to our most ambitious project yet: an anthology film created by and for our club members! Each of you will contribute your unique creativity and talent to a series of interconnected short films. Here’s everything you need to know to take part in this exciting challenge.
Theme – The internet has gone down
The internet has gone down, indefinitely and without explanation. This global event has drastically reshaped the world, creating endless storytelling opportunities. Your film should explore life in this internet-free world after at least one month of disconnection.

Parameters
To ensure cohesion across all films, please follow these guidelines:
- Stick to the theme.
- Keep it simple and low-budget. Aim for creative, practical ideas rather than high-cost productions.
- Include a radio/TV broadcast. Each film must feature a pre-written and pre-recorded broadcast that provides a brief explanation of the internet outage. This will be provided to you.
Script Guidelines
- Length: 1-10 minutes (equivalent to 1-10 script pages).
- Tone and Story: You are free to explore any angle (serious, comedic, dramatic, or surreal), as long as it fits the theme.
- Collaboration: Feel free to write with a partner or submit multiple scripts.
Note: This is not a competition. All scripts will be considered and reviewed. Selected scripts may be refined with the guidance of Adrian and other club members to ensure they work well within the anthology.

This isn’t a competition; it’s a chance to collaborate and create something incredible together.

Director Opportunities
- Writers are welcome to direct their own scripts.
- If you’re interested in directing but not writing, let us know, we’ll pair you with a script.
- Directors will be expected to commit to seeing their film through to completion. Mentorship and support are available.
Crew Requirements
Projects receiving club funding must have at least 50% of their crew made up of club members, including the Director.
Non-members are welcome to submit scripts or create films for the anthology but will not receive funding from the club unless they collaborate with members.
Timeline
We aim to premiere the finished anthology in June, so let’s get started! Please send in your scripts within the next four weeks. Late submissions might still be considered if we can fit them in, but we’ll begin production once we have six strong scripts.
- Script Submission Deadline: 28th February 2025.
- Team Building & Pitch Session: Once scripts are selected, teams will form, and directors will pitch their films to the club.
- Production: Begins immediately after team formation, with a target premiere in June.
